Motorola introduces 2nd generation of Moto 360 SmartWatch

Motorola Moto 360 2nd generation smartwatch has been announced along with a Moto 360 Sports watch version. The new Moto 360, as Motorola likes to call it, comes with improved design and battery life, enhanced fitness tracking and it's highly customizable. Motorola promises to have fine tuned the experience with the second iteration of the watch. They stuck to the "flat tire" display for the new generation Moto 360, as they claim this was the only way for them to keep the bezels so thing and achieve the 71.7% screen-to-body ratio.

The all new Moto 360 is made of aircraft-grade 316L stainless steel and comes in two sizes: The 46mm version for men has a 1.56-inch LCD display with a resolution of 360 x 330, while the 42mm version for men and women has a 1.37-inch LCD display with a resolution of 360 x 325. Both come in at 11.4mm thick. In contrast, the Apple Watch is offered in 42mm and 38mm sizes and is 10.5mm thick.

The 46mm version will sport a 400mah battery, while the 42mm version comes in at 300mAh. Both are rated at a day and a half of mixed use with the ambient display off or one full day with the ambient display on. Moto 360 2nd Gen runs on the latest Android Wear, enhanced with Motorola's custom watch faces and Live Dials - those are shortcuts available on the watch faces.

The remaining difference is in the size of the bands. The men’s version takes standard 22mm bands, while the women’s version accepts 16mm. The Moto 360 2nd Gen will be available within the Moto Maker website and will be highly customizable - you will be able to choose between various materials, additional bezels, colors, band colors and materials.

The Moto 360 Sport is a new take on the 360 smartwatch with the fitness fans in mind. It has everything the second generation Moto 360 offers, but comes with a better AnyLight Hybrid display with higher sunlight legibility, integrated GPS and option to work without your phone, plus it can store your music for offline listening while you are training.
