Alcatel OneTouch Watch is now available in Bangladesh for 9500 taka

What makes a good smartwatch? Having a great battery life, surely. Being useful, definitely. Being attractive, maybe being no-fuss and somewhat fun to use. It's a tough combination to hit, and that's why there aren't any perfect smartwatches yet. The Alcatel OneTouch Watch attempts to cover most of the smartwatch basics using bespoke software, not everyman choice Android Wear. This means it's cheaper than most other models while also being smaller than some and lasting longer off a charge.

This is Alcatel OneTouch's first stab at making a smartwatch, and it's obvious the company's not drawing from a vast pool of experience. Despite the goal of delivering a polished, attractive smartwatch with a reasonable price tag, the Alcatel OneTouch Watch feels eagerly amateurish at best and just poorly thought out at worst. You can now buy it in Bangladesh just for 9,500 taka or $125.

It's not a great smartwatch. It's not even a good smartwatch. But it will put notifications and activity-tracking on your wrist, and give you an idea of what smartwatches are all about.

One of the best things about the OneTouch Watch is that it works with both Android and iOS. You need a device running Android 4.3 (Jellybean) or higher, and the iPhone 4S or newer models that use iOS 7 or higher. You also need the OneTouch Move app installed on your phone in order to connect to the watch. With a circular face surrounded by an attractive chrome finish, the OneTouch Watch looks somewhat similar to the Motorola Moto 360. The watch face measures 0.41 inches thick and 1.64 inches wide.

The strap comes in two sizes: Small/Medium (7.2 inches), or Medium/Large (8 inches long). It also comes in two colors: black with a red underside, or a white and silver combo. You'll find the number 12 at the top of the watch face and six at the bottom. There are no other numbers on the face, as the rest of the hours are marked by generic dashes. A single physical button used for powering the watch on and off and for triggering the display resides on the right side. The watch is rated IP67 for dust- and water-resistance, so it can be safely submerged in water up to three feet deep, which makes it safe to wear in the shower.
