There are a wide variety of Apple Watch stands and docks available these days, but that hasn't stopped Apple from releasing one of the company's very own. Yes i am right, Apple is now selling a wireless charging pad for its smartwatch. The $79 plate not only demonstrates Cupertino's commitment to design, it also confirms its habit of cutting people's pocket without any reason.
The white round docking station has an embedded magnetic puck, strongly resembling the Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Cable, which already comes with the original package. As revealed from the leaked pictures yesterday, the dock can charge your precious Apple Watch in two positions: lying flat, or on its side. When you use the latter position, the wearable automatically enters Nightstand mode, so it can also be used as an alarm clock. The dock uses the same inductive charging connector that comes with the Apple Watch. It can charge all models of the smartwatch, regardless of size.

Of course, the benefit of charging the Apple Watch on its side is that you can turn it into a makeshift alarm clock by activating Nightstand mode. When enabled (which you can do by going to General > Nightstand Mode), the display will feature the time, date, how much battery you have left, and any impending alarms. When an alarm does go off, there’s even a snooze feature that can be activated by pressing down on the digital crown. Conveniently, Apple notes that when you charge up the device on its side, Nightstand Mode will be activated automatically.
