Huawei dazzled an entire throng of journalists when it showed off its first Android Wear smartwatch earlier this March, but we had to wait a little longer for the release than we wanted to due to software issues and further design refinement. The wait is finally over though, and we can finally fill you in on all the details regarding one of the most beautiful Android Wear watches ever. The Huawei Watch is the the company's first smartwatch. Just like the Moto 360, LG G Watch R and Watch Urbane, the Huawei Watch runs Google's Android Wear operating system. It can display personalized Google Now cards and notifications for text messages, emails and calls from your iPhone or Android smartphone right on your wrist.

At 42mm in diameter, the Watch comes in a bit smaller than its rivals and Huawei claim its the "most compact" circular smartwatch yet. The Huawei Watch is definitely stylish and, with a diameter of 42mm and a thickness of 11.3mm, it's certainly more compact than the Moto 360. The bezels are just 0.6mm thick too. The Huawei Watch packs scratch-resistant sapphire glass, like the forthcoming Apple Watch, and a cold-forged, stainless steel unibody design. It comes in gold, silver or black and there are both fine-grain leather and stainless steel strap options.
But the Huawei Watch is more than just a looker. It's got the best round watch display on the market, you will be hard pressed to find anything better than the 1.4 inch AMOLED display of the Huawei Watch. It has a resolution of 400x400 pixels and 286 ppi.
The unit runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC and boots the latest version of Android Wear (1.3). Google's OS will utilize the watch's gyroscope, accelerometer, PPG heart rate sensor and barometer. It even has Wi-Fi and can work untethered if need be.
The 300 mAh battery can easily get you through a day and a half, perhaps even two and fast charging is quite efficient achieving 80% battery charge in just 45 minutes and 30 more to a full charge. Last, but definitely not least, it recently became clear that Android Wear is no longer confined only to Android devices. iOS users can also consider the Huawei Watch, giving the Apple Watch a run for its money.

Initially, six models will be available to cater to a broad audience of buyers. But style does come at a price, as the Huawei ranges from $349 all the way to $799 – a pretty penny for a smartwatch, yet not that outlandish for a high-end watch and still a lot less than an Apple Watch Edition. In Europe these translate to a pricing ranging between €399 to €699, respectively.
Starting today, you can pre-order a unit in the US at Amazon, the Google Store, BestBuy and GetHuawei.com with shipping scheduled for September 17. Canada should get it by the end of the month. Europe is also included in the road map and the watch will be available in Germany, France, Spain and Italy later this month. The UK, Japan and UAE will follow shortly with even more markets planned down the road. So, we are definitely looking at a global roll out.
